It is commonly said that artificial intelligence “hallucinates,” meaning it presents fabrications as facts — because it is programmed to be convincing.
This painting explores the feeling of being caught in one’s own “hallucination”: in lucid dreams, when consciousness suddenly turns its attention upon itself and realizes that everything around it is a program that only seemed convincing.
