Japanese Garden, 2025
69 x 57 сm (27 х 23 inch)
Mixed media (Pastel, acrylic, matcha, sauce, pumpkin seeds on cardboard)
I was sitting at my dacha one day, listening to a lecture on the Japanese art of Wabi. And I was struck by how close it was to my sense of aesthetics and beauty.
Beauty in imperfect form
Unassuming beauty
The beauty of a cloudy autumn day
From this realization, I created a painting: a Japanese garden
with imperfect lines, pumpkin seeds, matcha, and a reminder:
Your beauty is perfect just the way you are.
